Thailand, a country that never ceases to enchant, has become my favourite destination, a place where I’ve returned time and again to explore its diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. With over 35 million visitors a year the Kingdom of Thailand is one of the top ten most visited countries in the world and it’s easy see why! From the bustling streets of Bangkok, where ancient temples stand in contrast to modern skyscrapers, to the serene beaches of the southern islands, Thailand offers a kaleidoscope of experiences that are as varied as they are captivating.

Each region of Thailand has its own unique charm. The north, with its lush mountains and rich cultural heritage, is home to cities like Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, where ancient temples and traditional markets provide a glimpse into the country’s soul. The central plains, with their fertile rice fields and historic sites like Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, tell the story of Thailand’s royal past. In the south, the idyllic beaches of Phuket, Krabi, and the islands of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand offer some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the world.

But beyond its natural beauty, what truly sets Thailand apart is its people and culture. The Thai way of life, with its emphasis on kindness, respect, and a deep connection to Buddhism, creates a welcoming atmosphere that resonates with visitors. The country’s rich culinary traditions, from street food to fine dining, add another layer of allure, with flavours that are as bold and diverse as the country itself.

Having visited most of the country, I’ve found that no matter how many times I return, there’s always something new to discover in Thailand. Whether exploring bustling cities, relaxing on pristine beaches, getting lost in lush jungles, or immersing myself in the country’s rich cultural traditions or festivals, Thailand continues to be a place that inspires and delights at every turn. It’s always been a second home for me, with family living there for years. There’s so much to do and see, it’s cheap, easy to travel and heaps of fun!
